Yesterday, Reva Systems unveiled its standards-based RFID network architecture aimed at simplifying RFID system implementation. The architecture will be able to integrate RFID into existing enterprise networks. Given the acronym TAN (which stands for Tag Acquisition Network) Reva hopes to unify implementation. Thus far it has been an individual, proprietary endeavor. The new architecture will make enterprise-wide RFID rollouts possible and its utilization more successful. Joel Conover, an analyst at Current Analysis, agrees. According to Computer Business Review:
"At some point you need to be able to access and control it from the center. Reva's the first to come out with this approach."
