As founding CEO with the company since its start-up potential was conceived, Ashley Stephenson led Reva to great success with important customer wins and prestigious industry recognition. Reva's string of industry accolades is bringing RFID solutions into focus with network innovation, technology excellence and manufacturing merit. Prior to co-founding Reva Systems, Stephenson was CEO and then Chairman of Xedia Corporation, a developer of advanced Internet access equipment, up until its acquisition by Lucent in 1999. While at Xedia, Stephenson was awarded "CEO of the Year" by the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council. Prior to Xedia, Stephenson was Vice President of Marketing at ISIS Distributed Systems, a provider of software and integration services for Reliable Group Messaging acquired by Stratus Computer. Stephenson began his career in Hi-Tech at IBM R&D in the U.K. During recent years Stephenson has taught Entrepreneurship as an Adjunct Professor in the Babson College MBA program, and is on the advisory board of Middlesex Community College's RFID Training Program. He has also served on the Board of Directors of several venture-backed startups and industry consortia. Stephenson is a graduate of Imperial College, London (Physics) and an Associate of the Royal College of Science. He is the holder of several U.S. patents.


 

David Husak founded Reva Systems in August 2003 and focused the company from the start on standards leadership and strategic architectural issues of the RFID market. As a result, Reva products were installed in Fortune 500 companies within months of their introduction, and Reva has won industry awards for the clarity of its RFID solution. Husak was selected as "CTO of The Year" in the 2006 Technology Leadership Awards presented by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council for contributions in the development of innovative business technology. Husak is a recognized RFID industry thought leader and serves as co-chair of the EPCglobal Software Action Group responsible for driving standards for RFID data exchange.

Husak previously co-founded and became CTO of C-Port Corporation, a fabless communication semiconductor company, where he was the principal architect of the category-creating C-5 Network Processor. C-Port was sold to Motorola in May 2000. Husak was the founding engineer and system architect at Synernetics Inc., the pioneering Ethernet and FDDI LAN switching company, which was sold to 3Com. Prior to that, he developed LAN interface hardware at Apollo Computer. Throughout his career, Husak has contributed extensively to network industry standardization efforts. Husak holds seven patents, with several more pending. He received a SBEE in Bioelectrical Engineering and has completed graduate work in communications systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


 

Buck Devashish is responsible for Reva’s global business development and strategic partner relationships. Prior to joining Reva, Devashish was Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development for Yantra Corporation, a recognized leader in supply chain fulfillment execution systems. At Yantra, Devashish oversaw the development of next generation revenue opportunities, establishing several of the company's key initiatives including the Strategic Alliances and Multi-Generational Product Development (MGPD) programs.

Prior to Yantra, Devashish was with Infosys Technologies Limited in their supply-chain solutions group. Devashish earlier held profit center responsibilities running the Plastic Strapping Systems Business Unit for Illinois Tool Works India.

Devashish has taught Professional Development courses at San Jose State University. He is an engineering graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.


 

Scott Barvick is a founding member of Reva's management team. He served initially as the company's Director of Software Development, building the start-up software team and leading the development of the features, software processes, and infrastructure that have resulted in Reva's award-winning products. His leadership has helped establish Reva's reputation as an RFID pioneer through Reva's innovative product features and its contribution to international standards for RFID technology. Now serving as the company's Vice President of Engineering, Barvick's responsibilities have expanded to include all of Reva's product development and quality assurance activities.

Prior to Reva Systems, Barvick was Director of Software Development at Xedia Corp. and then Vice President of Engineering of Lucent's Access Point Business Unit following Lucent's acquisition of Xedia in 1999. Barvick has led Engineering teams for over 15 years within leading companies including Wellfleet Communications, Bay Networks, and NetEdge Systems. Barvick holds a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MSEE from Stanford University.


 

Dr. Krishna is a founding architect of Reva Systems. As the Vice-President of Solution and Technology Services, Dr. Krishna is responsible for the global management and execution of Customer and Partner facing projects involving Reva products and solutions. Prior to this role, as the Chief System Architect, he was a significant contributor to the overall design and architecture of Reva’s award-winning products. He is the editor of Low Level Reader Protocol (LLRP), a global standard for interfacing with RFID readers. He currently serves as the co-chair of the GS1/EPCGlobal Reader Operations Working Group. Krishna brings over 12 years of experience in the computer networking field having led architecture and design teams at both emerging and established companies including Coriolis Networks and Digital Equipment Corporation. He has published over 20 papers, given several talks and taught courses, and holds five patents, with several more pending.

Krishna’s achievements include the GS1/EPCglobal’s Software Action Group Person of the Year award in 2006 for his significant contributions to worldwide RFID standards development. Dr. Krishna holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Technology (Honors) from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India.


 

Satoshi Shiba's extensive direct and channel sales experience in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) helps to facilitate Reva's growth in the APJ region. Prior to joining Reva, Mr. Shiba was regional director and then general manager of Voltaire Ltd. in Tokyo. Responsible for sales in the APJ region, Mr. Shiba managed OEM relationships, channel partners and regional sales teams. Before Voltaire, Mr. Shiba was with Brocade Communications Systems based in Beijing, where he served as sales director for OEM & New Business for greater China. Earlier in his career, Shiba held senior-level engineering positions with Qlogic Japan and Nippon Texa. Mr. Shiba has lived and worked in both China and Japan, and is fluent in Mandarin, Japanese and English languages. He holds degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology Graduate School (Ph.D.), Northeastern University (MS), and Anshan Steel and Iron University (BS).


 

With over 30 years of engineering and engineering management experience, Mike Grady joins Reva from Chinook Communications, a start-up developing silicon based physical-layer data transmission technology, where he served as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to Chinook, Grady was the CEO and co-founder of Argon Networks, a developer of high-performance core routers, where he lead the research and development of advanced hardware, software and custom ASICs. Argon was acquired in 1999 by a unit of Siemens and has subsequently been acquired by Juniper Networks. Prior to founding Argon, Grady was the Senior VP of Engineering at Bay Networks, a company formed by the merger of SynOptics and Wellfleet Communications. While at Wellfleet, Grady built an engineering team from 60 to over 400 highly talented engineers and managers. Earlier in his career, Grady was a founding engineer at Stratus Computer, and prior to that held positions as a software engineer and manager at Honeywell in the Multics Project at MIT. Grady holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
